Kalamazoo College midfielder Ella Spooner earned Second Team All-Great Lakes Region honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA), with the full list of All-Region teams announced Friday. It is the Hornets' first ever All-Region award.
A senior from Holland, Mich. (West Ottawa), Spooner earned the recognition by leading Kalamazoo and being ranked #22 nationally in goals (69), while her total points (94) ranked #39 in NCAA III. She added 58 draw controls, 35 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers on the year.
This season, Spooner helped the Hornets to tie the program's single-season wins record with 10 total victories and five MIAA wins. She set Kalamazoo's single-game points record (12) in a win at Trine on April 15, and became the program's all-time leader in career goals (231) and points (287).
Kalamazoo women's lacrosse won a game in the MIAA Tournament for the first time this season, reaching the semifinals for the third time in program history. The Hornets also earned a program-record five All-MIAA honorees in 2026.
