The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team will head to Trine University for the first round of the MIAA Tournament, Presented by Collegiate Credit Union, on Saturday (April 25) at 1 p.m. in Angola, Ind. The Hornets earned the No. 5 seed with a 2-4 record in conference play, along with a 6-8 overall record, while the Thunder went 3-3 in MIAA action and 13-4 overall to take the No. 4 seed.

The Hornets were led this season on offense by senior Max Plesscher, with 27 goals and five assists. Junior Dylan Adkins was second on the team with 26 points, with 15 goals and a team-high 11 assists.
Senior Jack Bungart led the Kalamazoo defense with 70 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers. Already a three-time All-MIAA honoree, Bungart became the conference's all-time leader in career caused turnovers during the penultimate game of the regular season, now with 64 in his career (MIAA games only).
In goal, junior Tony Valade posted the best save percentage (min. 200 shots faced) in program history this year at .536, while his 9.59 goals against average was also the best ever for a Hornet starting goalie.
Trine beat Kalamazoo, 14-5, when the two teams played in the regular season on April 11. Plesscher scored two goals, Bungart caused three turnovers, and Vilade made 15 saves in the contest.
The winner of Saturday's matchup will advance to play at regular season MIAA Champion Hope College on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m.
