The Kalamazoo College baseball team earned its highest ranking in program history from both major national polls this week, coming in at #12 in the country according to D3baseball.com, while the ABCA had Kalamazoo at #19. The Hornets' previous best ranking from D3baseball.com was #19, and the ABCA poll had the Hornets at #23, both on March 18, 2024.
Kalamazoo is currently 19-2 on the year, and riding an 11-game winning streak, tied with a run from April 8-21, 2023 for the longest in program history.
The Hornets are excelling in several areas right now, including currently being the top scoring team in the country at 12.1 runs per game. Kalamazoo also sits top-five in the nation in win-loss percentage (.905, #2), on-base percentage (.479, #2), stolen bases (85, #3), and batting average (.358, #5).
Individually, the Hornets boast two current NCAA-III leaders as well. Ryar Rinehart ranks #1 in total RBIs (49) and RBIs per game (2.33), while Robert Newland leads the nation in stolen bases (27).
