Macy Ward was selected as the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
A sophomore catcher/outfielder from West Bloomfield, Mich. (St. Mary's Prep), Ward went 2-for-5 (.400) with two doubles, a walk, one run and one RBI in two games for Kalamazoo College softball last weekend.
In game two of Saturday's doubleheader at Franklin College, Ward hit two doubles, scoring the first run for the Hornets in the sixth inning and playing a key role in the seventh-inning rally that came up just short as Kalamazoo lost, 4-3.
Kalamazoo softball will be back on the field in Florida for the spring break trip next week. The Hornets start off facing Macalester at 9 a.m. and Salem State at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 19 in Clermont, Fla.
