Softball Earns NFCA Academic Honors

The 2025 Kalamazoo College softball team was recognized with Academic honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Eight Hornets qualified for Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete All-America recognition with an individual GPA of 3.50 or higher for the academic year: Bella Caza, Jordan Cook, Landrie Fridsma, Alyssa Hinkley, Emma Newlove, Jaycee Rider, Cecilia Schihl and Jordan Wesaw.

In addition, the Kalamazoo College softball team was recognized as an Easton/NFCA Academic Team with a 3.481 for the academic year.

The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division III led the way with 2,565 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2024-25.

The Kalamazoo College softball team was also recognized with the MIAA Team GPA Award earlier this week.
