Three Hornets Earn All-MIAA Second Team Honors

Kalamazoo College's Brenna Fisher, Maddy Vrba, and Jordan Wesaw received All-MIAA Second Team honors, as announced by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association on Wednesday, May 7th.

Fisher, a senior transfer from Transylvania, earned All-MIAA Second Team honors after an outstanding season leading the Hornets in runs, hits, stolen bases, batting average, and on-base percentage.

She set a new program record with 37 runs scored in a single season and tied records for hits (52) and stolen bases (32). Her .430 batting average ranks third all-time in program history.

Fisher finishes out the season starting all 36 games as the leadoff hitter in left field. She tallied 52 hits, 37 runs, 32 stolen bases, and 10 RBIs to post a .430 batting average, a .478 on-base percentage, and a .471 slugging percentage.

Additionally, she was named MIAA Player of the Week on March 31st.

Vrba, a sophomore pitcher from Kalamazoo, Mich. (Mattawan), was named to the All-MIAA Second Team after posting a 9-5 record in the circle this season. With nine wins, Vrba finds herself tied for third in program history for single-season wins.

She tossed 10 complete games and recorded four shutouts, allowing just 89 hits and 49 runs. Vrba struck out 55 and walked only 33 batters, finishing the season with a team-best 3.43 ERA.

She was also recognized as the MIAA Pitcher of the Week on April 28th.

Wesaw, a sophomore from Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern), was named to the All-MIAA Second Team as well after starting 34 games at first base.

She ranked second on the team in hits, RBIs, home runs, total bases, batting average, slugging percentage, and on-base plus slugging, while tying for the team lead in doubles.

Wesaw wrapped up the season with 43 hits, 29 RBIs, 28 runs, 10 doubles, three home runs, and two triples, while hitting .349 with a .589 slugging percentage and a .418 on-base percentage.

The Hornets closed the 2025 season with a 21-15 overall record and a 9-7 mark in MIAA Conference play.
