The 2025-26 Kalamazoo College men's basketball seniors have selected their Most Valuable Professors to recognize this season.

The Hornets selected Dr. Benjamin Kingsley, Dr. Binney Girdler, Dr. Seong-Hee Kim, Dr. Darshana Udayanganie and Dr. Josh Moon.

Carter Bandemer and Dougie Blackwood both honored Dr. Kingsley from the English Department as their MVP. Bandemer said that Dr. Kingsley helped him grow as a person, and there was never a dull moment in his class. Blackwood talked about how Dr. Kingsley knows how to build personal relationships with his students, blending kindness with humor and respect.

Trey Bolling selected Dr. Girdler of the Biology Department as his MVP. Bolling said that Dr. Girdler made her students feel welcome to share new ideas by treating them like her fellow researchers, and that she made learning exciting by creating an environment her students look forward to being in.

The next MVP was Dr. Kim of the Business Department, chosen by Caleb Caul. He said that Dr. Kim helped spark his interest in finance, making her class enjoyable and engaging, and providing valuable insight as his SIP advisor.

Lucas Hanifan tabbed Dr. Udayanganie of the Economics Department as his MVP. Hanifan said he appreciated her energy for every class and dedication to help her students during office hours, adding that she was always a joy to be around.

Finally, Dr. Moon of the Music Department was honored by JJ Stevens as his MVP. Stevens said that Dr. Moon helped guide him through courses and professors that he knew as his advisor, and that he was able to connect with Dr. Moon and share his goals with him because of that support.
