Kalamazoo College catcher Caleb Moore and outfielder Robert Newland were named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week Wednesday (Feb. 18).
A junior from Pinckney, Mich. (Charyl Stockwell), Moore led Kalamazoo baseball with a .588 average (10-for-17), helping the Hornets to a 4-0 weekend in California. He had three doubles in the Hornets' 12-0 win over #19 Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday, totaling eight runs and 13 RBIs in four games.
A senior from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. (Bloomfield Hills), Newland hit .571 (8-for-14) with two doubles, one triple, four walks, seven runs and four RBIs in four games. He also stole seven bases in eight attempts.
Newland also earned MIAA Position Player of the Week honors for his performance.
Kalamazoo baseball is back in action this weekend to face Wittenberg, Carroll and Berea in Berea, Ky.
