The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) revealed its Academic Awards for the 2025 season, with Team Awards and Individual Scholar All-Americans being announced on Tuesday, July 1
st.
Kalamazoo College's men's lacrosse team earned a spot on the USILA 2025 Academic Team, while senior
Jack Bungart was named the Hornets' lone recipient of Scholar All-American honors.
The USILA Academic Awards honor programs that maintain a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, and individual student-athletes who not only meet the same GPA standard but also demonstrate exemplary conduct and commitment to their sport, both on and off the field.
This marks the fourth time in the past five seasons that the Hornets have received Academic Team recognition, finishing the year with a 3.48 team GPA.
On the field, Kalamazoo closed out the 2025 season with a 6-8 overall record and a 1-5 mark in conference play.
Bungart earns his first USILA Scholar All-American honor following a standout season in which he was also named to the All-MIAA First Team as a defender. He led the Hornets in both ground balls (59) and caused turnovers (39), setting new program records for both single-season and career caused turnovers (101).
Additionally, Bungart was named to the USILA Team of the Week on March 5
th and earned MIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors on March 3
rd.
