Women's Lacrosse Earns Five CSC Academic All-District Honorees

Five members of the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday, June 18th.

Jordan Flink, Lily Grelak, Julia Kozal, Natalie Maki, and Annslee Ware each earned the academic distinction.

To earn this honor, the student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and have played at least 90% or start in 66% of their team's competitions, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Flink, a senior goalkeeper from Jordan, Minn., led Kalamazoo in saves (113) and ground balls (31) this season. She posted a .374 save percentage with a 3-10 record.

Flink surpassed the 500-save milestone and concluded her career with 523 saves and a 24-34 record.

Grelak, a senior from Canton, Mich. earns Academic All-District honors for the second time in her career.

She played in 59 games during her time at Kalamazoo, collecting 25 ground balls, 19 points, 12 assists, and 7 goals.

Kozal,  a sophomore from Ada, Mich., had a standout season, leading the Hornets in draw controls (50), ranking second in caused turnovers (20), and tying for second in ground balls (30). She also tied for third in goals (18)

Her career totals so far include 55 ground balls, 54 draw controls, 34 points, 33 caused turnovers, and 25 goals.

Additionally, she was named MIAA Specialist Player of the Week on February 17.

Maki, a senior from Lake Orion, Mich., also earned her second Academic All-District nod after setting a new program record for career games played (65).

She wrapped up the 2025 season with 31 draw controls, 22 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, and 11 goals.

Maki finishes her Hornet career with 96 ground balls, 80 draw controls, 70 caused turnovers, 36 goals, and 21 assists.

Ware, a sophomore from Hendersonville, Tenn., led the team in caused turnovers (30) and tied for second in ground balls (30).

She now totals 40 career caused turnovers and 43 ground balls, ranking fourth in single-season caused turnovers and 10th all-time at Kalamazoo.

The Hornets concluded their 2025 season with a 4-13 overall record and a 3-4 mark in conference play.
