KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost to The College of Wooster Saturday at MacKenzie Field, 20-8.
Wooster took a 4-2 lead after the first quarter, then pushed the advantage to 10-3 at halftime. The Fighting Scots continued to build their lead in a high-scoring third quarter, going ahead 17-7 to the final frame, and tightening down defensively in the fourth to secure the win.
The Hornets were led by Ella Spooner with four goals and one assist, along with a team-high four ground balls. Jordan Doyle scored one goal with two assists, and Tessa Fuller added two goals.
Kennedy Hynde picked up seven draw controls and three ground balls, while Annslee Ware led the team with four caused turnovers. In goal, Kaitlyn Grice made seven saves in defeat.
Kalamazoo women's lacrosse continues the homestand on Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Ohio Northern University at MacKenzie Field.
