Ella Spooner was selected as the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday, April 22^nd, for events through April 20^th.

Spooner, a junior from Holland, Mich. (West Ottawa), played a key role in leading the Hornets to a 2-0 week with wins over Saint Mary's (Ind.) and Trine. The Hornets defeated Saint Mary's 16-4 on Wednesday before edging out Trine 14-13 in a close game on Saturday.

Across the two victories, Spooner put up impressive numbers, averaging 17 points, 13 draw controls, 12 goals, five assists, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

She had a career performance on Wednesday night, notching seven goals, seven draw controls, three ground balls, and two assists. On Saturday, she continued her strong play with five goals, six draw controls, and two caused turnovers in the win over Trine.

For the season, Spooner has tallied 42 goals, 31 draw controls, 11 assists, and 11 caused turnovers.

Additionally, Spooner earned the MIAA Women's Lacrosse Specialist of the Week honors on Monday, April 21^st.
