Kalamazoo, Mich. – In their final home game of the season, the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team fell to Adrian College, 14-9, on Tuesday night. The loss drops the Hornets to 4-12 overall and 3-4 in MIAA play.
Kalamazoo held a 7-5 advantage at halftime, but the Bulldogs took over in the second half, outscoring the Hornets 9-2 to secure the win.
Adrian held the advantage in shots (32-21), ground balls (22-14), and clears (18-16). Both teams recorded 13 draw controls on the day.
Ella Spooner paced the Hornets' offense with four goals and four draw controls.
Marin Miroslavich and
Tessa Fuller each added two goals and a ground ball, while
Jordan Doyle chipped in with one goal.
Defensively,
Natalie Maki tallied five draw controls and two caused turnovers, followed by
Annslee Ware with two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
In goal,
Jordan Flink made nine saves but took the loss, moving to 2-9 on the season.
The Hornets will be back in action on Saturday, April 26, as they begin MIAA Tournament play.
