Box Score ANGOLA, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team falls to #3 Trine 76-63 on the road, on Wednesday night (Jan. 8
th). The Hornets fall to 7-5 on the season.
The Hornets trailed 40-20 heading into the half but outscored the Thunder 43-36 in the second half to cut the defeat to 13 points.
Kalamazoo shot 60% from the line, 36.8% from the field, and 23% from behind the arc. Trine shot 76.9% on the free-throw line, 51.7% from the field, and 26.7% behind the arc. The Hornets outrebounded the Thunder 39-36, putting up 14 offensive rebounds to their six. The Kalamazoo bench notched up 38 points compared to Trine's 10.
DJ Ferguson led the Hornets with a career-high 19 points on 8-16 shooting from the field and 3-6 behind the arc. Ferguson dished out three assists, two rebounds, and one steal.
Lukas Broadsword led Kalamazoo with 12 rebounds, 11 points, and one block, recording his fifth double-double this season.
Lucas Hanifan notched up 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Nicholas Olmeda and
Carter Bandemer both added five points to the Hornets' final score. Additionally, Olmeda hauled in eight rebounds.
