Women's Lacrosse tripped up by Saint Mary's

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was defeated 16-7 by Saint Mary's, who currently sits in first place in the MIAA, on the road on Wednesday evening.

The Hornets took the lead early as Rachel Madar struck within the first minute of play, but Saint Mary's answered with four straight goals. Halfway through the first half, with the the Belles ahead 5-3, Saint Mary's scored five times in four minutes to jump out to a 10-3 lead.

The Hornets continued to push forward in the second half, but Saint Mary's answered each of K's goals with one of their own to hand the Hornets a 16-7 loss.

Rachel Madar scored two goals and had eight draw controls for K and Hannah Meyers also found the back of the goal twice for K. Amanda Moss had one goal, one assist, seven ground balls, and caused three turnovers.

Katie Johnson made 10 saves in goal for Kalamazoo.

K will return home on Saturday, April 14th to host Calvin for an 11 a.m. contest.
