Eamonn Burns was selected as the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Men's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.

A senior defender from Grand Rapids, Mich. (East Grand Rapids), Burns helped lead the defensive effort for Kalamazoo College men's soccer that resulted in a pair of shutout wins last week, adding his first career goal on Saturday.

Burns played 74 minutes in a 3-0 win at Alma on Wednesday as the Hornets shut down a Scots offense that averages 2.5 goals per game on the season. At Trine on Saturday, he scored the only goal of the game and played a season-high 85 minutes in the 1-0 victory.

The big week also landed Burns MIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his collegiate career.

Kalamazoo men's soccer plays at home Tuesday against The University of Olivet at 7 p.m. at MacKenzie Field for the Hornets' Most Valuable Professor Game.
