ANGOLA, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team took down Trine University Saturday, 1-0, to move to 2-0 in conference action.
The Hornets scored the game's only goal in the ninth minute. Brody Plumstead worked the ball down to the end line after a throw in, and found Eamonn Burns crashing the box to deliver a kick all the way across the goal and just inside the left post for his first career goal and the game-winner.
Kalamazoo's defense took it from there, with Brody Adalbert stopping five shots for his third consecutive shutout. The Hornets outshot Trine, 15-12, and 7-5 in shots on goal, with nine corner kicks to two for the Thunder.
Kalamazoo men's soccer (6-5-1, 2-0 MIAA) returns home to MacKenzie Field for a matchup against The University of Olivet (6-3, 0-2) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
