Kalamazoo College's Jillian Smith was named MIAA Women's Golf Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 6.
A junior from Howell, Mich. (Howell), Smith was recognized after earning medalist honors at the second MIAA Jamboree last weekend by tying for first place with a one-over-par 73. Her score of 73 also tied the lowest score for a round in Kalamazoo women's golf history.
Smith is now averaging a 78.3 overall on the season and 77.5 strokes per round in MIAA play. This is the second consecutive week with the Hornets taking home MIAA Women's Golf Player of the Week honors after Jacey Merkle earned the award last week (Sept. 29).
The Hornets host the third MIAA Jamboree Monday (Oct. 6) at 1 p.m. at Gull Lake Country Club.
