Jillian Smith was selected as the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.

A junior from Howell, Mich. (Howell), Smith placed second overall at the fourth MIAA Jamboree Saturday (Oct. 11) with a score of 74 (3 over par). She led the way for the Hornets, who finished tied for second in the tournament and sit third overall in MIAA play, the highest placing for the women's golf team in the fall in school history.

Smith lowered her season average score to 79.25 with that strong performance, which would be the second-lowest average for a season in school history.

Kalamazoo women's golf finishes the fall season with the Hornet Fall Invite on Monday, Oct. 20 at Stonehedge North in Augusta, Mich. starting at 11 a.m.
