Two Kalamazoo College football players received All-MIAA honors on Tuesday, Nov. 19

Lucas Hanifan was selected to the All-MIAA Second Team (Offense), while
Carson Deines was on the All-MIAA Second Team (Defense).

Lucas Hanifan made his way onto the All-MIAA teams for the first time in his career. Hanifan led the Hornets' offense this season with 778 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns, averaging 11.97 yards per reception and 77.8 yards per game. Additionally, Hanifan was the main kick returner for the Hornets, recording 372 yards and averaging 17.71 per return. He also returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown. Hanifan ended the 2024 season scoring 10 touchdowns for Kalamazoo, leading the Hornets with 60 points total. In the MIAA conference, Hanifan sits in the Top 10 in all available categories, ranking third overall in receiving, third overall in scoring (TDs), sixth overall in scoring, and seventh overall in kick returns.
Deines, a senior from Grand Rapids Mich. (Forest Hills Central), was the second athlete to receive All-MIAA Second Team honors for Kalamazoo. Deines was recently named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 18
th after recording 12 tackles and a team-best six solo stops in the final game of the season. Deines ends the 2024 season leading the Hornets' defense with 83 tackles (38 solo), averaging 8.3 tackles per game. Additionally, Deines recorded three tackles for loss (four yards), one sack, one interception, and one fumble recovery. In the MIAA conference rankings, Deines sits third overall in tackles.
Kalamazoo finished the 2024 regular season 4-6 overall, 1-6 in the MIAA conference.
