KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team finished the 2022 season with a 12-9 win over Adrian College on Monday. The game was the second in a doubleheader from Saturday that was suspended tied 1-1 in the top of the second inning due to rain.

After play resumed, Kalamazoo led 4-1 after two innings. The Bulldogs scored six in the bottom of the third to take a 7-4 lead. Kalamazoo regained the lead with five in the fourth before adding three more in the sixth to go up 12-7. Adrian scored two in the bottom of the seventh before a pop up to second ended the game.

Kalamazoo had a season-high 17 hits in the game. Adrian had 13 hits.

Lucy Hart and Brynna Garden each had three hits with two RBIs. Sam Moss had three hits with one RBI.

Lizzy Rottenberk had two doubles with three RBIs. Mackenzie Moore and Nikki Gorder each had two hits. 

Sam Moss earned the win in four and a third innings of relief. The win was her 10th of the season, tying the school record for wins in a season. 

Kalamazoo finishes the season with a record of 21-13 overall (8-8 MIAA), setting school records for wins in a season and winning percentage (.618).
