KALAMAZOO, Mich, - The Kalamazoo College softball team swept a doubleheader over The University of Olivet on Friday, winning 8-0 in game one and 8-4 in game two.
Game One – Kalamazoo 8, Olivet 0 (5 inn.)
Kalamazoo scored two runs in each of the first four innings en route to an 8-0 win after five innings.
Kalamazoo had 12 hits in the game led by
London Rabb who was 3-for-4 in the leadoff spot.
Landrie Fridsma,
Macy Ward and
Delaney Lee each had two hits.
Fridsma, Ward, Lee and
Grace Rocco each had a double. Fridsma and Ward each drove in two runs.
Maddie Potts earned the win in the circle, allowing just two hits with a career-high seven strikeouts.
Game Two – Kalamazoo 8, Olivet 4
After scoring a run in the first, Kalamazoo added five in the second to take a 6-0 lead. Olivet chipped away with four runs over the next three innings to make it a 6-4 game. Kalamazoo added two runs in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the 8-4 win.
Kalamazoo had 10 hits in the game led by
Ella Neumann who was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
Grace Rocco had two hits and three RBIs.
Ava Domzalski also had two hits.
Elizabeth Jones struck out three in four innings to earn the win.
Grace Rocco struck out a career-high eight batters over the final three innings to earn the save.
