Softball drops pair of games on Friday

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost a pair of games in Florida on Friday.

Game One

Kalamazoo lost its opener on Friday 7-0 to Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Warhawks needed just two big innings to secure the win, scoring four in the first inning and three in the fourth.

Kalamazoo was limited to two hits during the game, singles by Paige Maguire and Angelia Evangelista

Evangelista also had a stolen base.

Game Two

Kalamazoo lost the second game of the day 7-4 to William Paterson.

The Pioneers (9-0) led 2-0 after three innings before Kalamazoo got on the board with a run in the top of the fourth. 

William Paterson scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to go up 6-1 and led 7-1 after five innings. Kalamazoo rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh and had three runners on base when the game ended.

Isabella Kirck was 2-for-4 with a stolen base while Erika Pueblo was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to face MIT and Washington & Jefferson Saturday afternoon.
