Box Score 2 The softball team lost the second game of a doubleheader, 3-0, in nine innings at Adrian on Thursday, April 19. The teams were scoreless through eight innings before Adrian scored three runs with two outs in the top of the ninth, including two unearned runs. Kalamazoo's best opportunity to score was in the fourth inning when the Hornets loaded the bases with two outs before a pop up ended the inning. Emma Patrash had two of Kalamazoo's three hits.
Kalamazoo lost the first game of the doubleheader, 9-1, as Adrian scored multiple runs in four of the five innings. Grace Mathieu homered in the third inning for Kalamazoo's only run. The Hornets loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth, but Adrian's relief pitcher came in and struck out the next three batters to end the threat. Abby Anderson, Rayanne Burl and Holly Kramer each had a hit in addition to Mathieu's home run.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Saint Mary's in a doubleheader at WMU's Ebert Field on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
