Kalamazoo College punter Carsen Moat was named MIAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week Monday (Sept. 21).
A senior from Muskegon, Mich. (North Muskegon), Moat averaged 43.7 yards per punt, with a long of 50 and one punt inside the 20, in the Hornets' 42-17 win at Anderson on Saturday.
Moat, who also plays wide receiver, added one catch in the game. He is currently tied for the most yards per punt in the MIAA this season (43.0) with three of his 15 punts on the year booted over 50 yards and six downed inside the 20.
Kalamazoo football plays its MIAA opener at home against Trine University on Saturday at 6 p.m. under the lights on Angell Field.
