Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse had four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, announced on Tuesday, June 16. Teige Bredin, Jack Bungart, Max Plesscher and Tony Valade each earned the honor.
To earn the distinction of CSC Academic All-District honors, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and play in 90% of the team's games or start in at least 66% of the team's games.
A sophomore attacker/midfielder from Lowell, Mich. (Lowell), Bredin played all 15 games for the Hornets this season, starting 13. He finished second on the team in goals with 18, collecting 12 ground balls and two assists. This is his first Academic All-District honor.
Bungart, a senior defender from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. (Orchard Lake St. Mary's), started all 15 games this season. He set a program record and ranked #8 in NCAA III in caused turnovers with 49, becoming the MIAA career leader in caused turnovers in conference games, finishing with 67. His total career caused turnovers (150) is also a Kalamazoo College record, and he led the team in ground balls this season with 75. This is his second consecutive Academic All-District award along with a Scholar All-American honor from USILA last year, and he earned his fourth career All-MIAA honor this season, becoming the Hornets' first two-time First Team All-MIAA recipient.
A senior midfielder from Haslett, Mich. (Haslett), Plesscher started all 15 games for Kalamazoo in 2026. He led the team in goals (29) and points (35), finishing third in assists (6) with 35 ground balls. In addition to his second Academic All-District honor, he was named Second Team All-MIAA.
Valade, a junior goalkeeper from Portage, Mich. (Portage Northern), played all 15 games, starting 14, this season. He broke program records in goals-against average (9.86) and save percentage (.531), going 6-8 with 147 saves and tying for second on the team with 42 ground balls. This is his first time being named to the Academic All-District team.
This season, the Hornets went 6-9 with a 2-4 record in MIAA play. It was Kalamazoo's fourth consecutive season winning at least five games after only reaching five wins once in the program's first seven seasons.
