Kalamazoo College women's basketball forward Lauren Vanderstelt was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, announced on Tuesday, March 24.
To earn the distinction of CSC Academic All-District honors, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and appear in at least 90% of the team's games or start 66% of the team's games.
A senior from Plainwell, Mich. (Plainwell), Vanderstelt played in all 26 games for the Hornets this season, starting 25. She led all of NCAA-DIII in blocks with 109 on the season, a program record for Kalamazoo College.
Along with the blocks, Vanderstelt averaged 10.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, setting the Kalamazoo single-season rebounds record with 277.
The Hornets finished the season 7-19 overall and 6-10 in MIAA play.
