Kalamazoo College distance runner Carson Cook was named MIAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday (March 23).
A sophomore from Brighton, Mich. (Hartland), Cook impressed at the Emory Spring Break Classic last weekend, placing among the top 20 finishers in both the 1500m (4:03.21) and 800m (1:59.99).
The honor is the first MIAA weekly award for Cook in his career, while he also earned Second Team All-MIAA and All-Region honors in cross-country this fall.
Kalamazoo men's track and field is back in action at the WashU Distance Carnival Thursday and Friday in St. Louis, Mo., with events kicking off at 5:15 p.m. CT Thursday and 3:45 p.m. CT on Friday.
