Ruby Hogan was selected as the SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
A junior from Cedar, Mich. (Glen Lake), Hogan scored 44 points with 14 rebounds and eight assists in two games last week for Kalamazoo College women's basketball.
In Saturday's regular season finale, she crossed the 1,000-point mark for her career, becoming the first player in program history with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists.
Hogan is leading the Hornets in scoring (13.7 points per game), assists (106), steals (39), field goals (112) and free throws (81) for the third consecutive season. Her 4.6 assists per game also leads the MIAA, while her 7.2 rebounds per game is second on the team and sixth in the conference.
Kalamazoo women's basketball begins the MIAA Tournament Presented by Collegiate Credit Union Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Albion.
