Jackson Janderwski was named MIAA Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 2 for games through Sunday, Aug. 31.
A freshman goalkeeper from DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt), Janderwski recorded a shutout in his first career start for the Hornets, a 2-0 win over U of M-Dearborn at home on Friday, Aug. 29. Janderwski faced six shots in the contest, recording two saves.
On Monday night, Janderwski recorded five saves in a 1-0 win over Aquinas.
Kalamazoo (2-0) travels to Texas later this week to take on Southwestern University on Friday, Sept. 5, and Trinity University on Sunday, Sept. 7.
The Hornets have five consecutive road games before returning home to face North Park University on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m.
