KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team won its season opener 2-0 over U of M-Dearborn Friday night at MacKenzie Field.
Lucas Ruiz scored Kalamazoo's first goal in the 41st minute after the Dearborn goalkeeper was unable to handle a corner kick.
Henry Plumstead scored off a free kick from
Tony Mares-Viveros in the 68th minute.
Kalamazoo outshot Dearborn 23-6 overall, including 8-2 on goal.
Jackson Janderwski was credited with two saves in goal in the shutout.
The Hornets are back in action at home on Monday, Sept. 1, when they host Aquinas College at 7 p.m.
