The 2025 Kalamazoo College baseball team was awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, on Wednesday, July 23.
The ABCA recognizes teams with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year. This year, nearly 300 high school programs and 440 collegiate programs were recognized with the award. The Hornets finished with a 3.407 team GPA for the 2024-25 academic year. The Hornets were 28-16 overall this past season.
The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949. The ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/Diamond Sports Regional & National Coaches of the Year, and several other major awards, such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
