Box Score 2 OLIVET, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team won 12-6 and 9-2 at Olivet on Saturday.
Game One
After a 2-2 first inning, Kalamazoo scored one in the third and five in the fourth to take a 8-2 lead. Olivet scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh to make it an 8-6 game. Kalamazoo added four runs in the ninth while holding Olivet scoreless over the finals two innings.
Kalamazoo outhit Olivet 12-9.
Spencer Baldwin had three hits with three RBIs.
Blake Bean had three hits including a double and a home run while also scoring four runs.
Doug Propson had two hits with two RBIs. Harrison Poeszat and Lukas Bolton also drove in two runs apiece.
Thomas Sylvester struck out nine in 5.2 innings while earning the win.
Game Two
Kalamazoo defeated Olivet 8-2 in eight innings. The game was called due to darkness.
Kalamazoo scored two in the first, four in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 8-0 lead. Olivet scored twice in the bottom of the sixth before Kalamazoo scored its ninth run in the top of the seventh.
Kalamazoo had 12 hits while limiting Olivet to four.
Spencer Baldwin had three hits with an RBI.
Blake Bean had two hits with a double and three RBIs.
Doug Propson had two hits with two RBIs and four runs scored.
Lukas Bolton and Noah Hecht each had two hits.
Harrison Poeszat drove in four runs.
Steven Shelton struck out six in six innings while earning the win. Adam Dorstewitz pitched a scoreless two innings in relief.
Kalamazoo is scheduled to host Olivet in the final game of the series on Sunday, May 1 at 1 p.m.
