KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team defeated Calvin University 10-7 in a non-conference contest at Woodworth Field on Tuesday.

Calvin scored a run in the first and added four in the third to take a 5-0 lead. Kalamazoo closed the gap with four in the bottom of the third only to fall behind 7-5 in the fifth. Kalamazoo scored one inthe fourth and two in the fifth to tie it at 7-7. The Hornets pulled ahead with a run in the sixth and added two more in the seventh while holding the Knights scoreless over the final five innings.

Kalamazoo had 12 hits in the game compared to 10 by Calvin.

Chase Coselman had four hits including a double and a triple with an RBI and three runs scored.

Noah Hecht, Trevor Hunsanger, and Amani Karim each had two hits in the game. Karim drove in three runs.

Kalamazoo used seven pitchers in the game with Parker Sisovsky picking up the win while Cade Thune earned the save. Thomas Sylvester, Sisovsky, Adam Dorstewitz, Joe Wade, and Thune did not allow a run.

Kalamazoo improved to 10-2 with the win. Kalamazoo and Calvin will face each other four more times this week with a pair of conference doubleheaders scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
