TUCSON, Ariz. – Allowing just one base runner in the first three innings of play, Kalamazoo College's Jack Tagget looked locked in and the Hornets looked like they were on their way to their third straight win at the Tucson Invitational. But it wasn't meant to be.

With the Hornets holding a 3-2 lead headed to the sixth inning, the Beavers rallied for six runs in the top half of the inning and never relinquished their lead throughout the rest of the game.

Kalamazoo picked itself up putting two runners across the plate in the bottom of the sixth with the fifth run coming off an RBI single from David Kracht, but the Hornets' offense was stifled in the latter innings by the Beavers' bullpen.

Ian Kobernick and Jack Clark tried to spark the offense all afternoon combining to go 5-for-8 with three runs scored, but every Hornet rally seemed to be cut short as the team ended the day with just two more hits than what the duo recorded.

Jack Dynes and David Kracht were responsible for the team's two remaining hits.

The Hornets, now 5-2 on the season and 2-2 at the Tucson Invitational, will look to rebound tomorrow afternoon when they take on Wisconsin-Superior. The Yellowjackets are 0-2 this season. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. MST.
