Baseball falls to Calvin in MIAA Tournament

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 6-2 loss to Calvin College in the MIAA Tournament on Thursday.

After scoring a run in the bottom of the first, Kalamazoo saw Calvin score two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-1 lead. Kalamazoo scored a run in the eighth and had two runners on, but could not push across any more runs.

Calvin added two more runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-2 lead. Kalamazoo put the first two runners on in the bottom of the ninth, but a double play and a groundout ended the game.

Calvin had 11 hits in the game compared to seven for Kalamazoo.

Mitchell VanKoeverin had two hits in the game while Jack Clark drove in two runs.

Kalamazoo ended the season tying the school record for wins in a season and wins in conference.
