ADRIAN, MI - The Kalamazoo College baseball team split a doubleheader with Adrian on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets lost the first game 5-3, and won the second game 3-0. Kalamazoo moves to 20-14 overall, and 15-7 in conference play this season. Kalamazoo tied the school record for wins in a season with 20. The loss was only Adrian's fourth MIAA loss this season.

In game one Kalamazoo looked to be in great shape and scored a run in the first, third, and fifth inning to take a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth Adrian stormed back and put up four runs to regain the lead. Kalamazoo was never able to reclaim it after that.

Jack Clark had an RBI for the Hornets, and Ryan Orr was strong from the mound again, going six innings while only giving up one earned run and striking out eight. Orr took the loss though and it's his first of the year. The freshman ace moves to 7-1.

In game two Kalamazoo would have its redemption, mostly due to a stellar outing from pitcher Aaron Schwark. Schwark threw a complete game shutout only giving up five hits and striking out four over seven innings.

Both teams were held very quiet in this game until the top of the fifth when Nate Donovan and Ian Kobernick each drove in runs. Joey Aliotta would add another run for the Hornets in the top of the sixth and with Schwark's command of the game the three runs would be all Kalamazoo would need to defeat the No.1 team in the MIAA. Scott Devine also went 1-for-3 and stole a base in the contest.

The two teams will close out the four-game series tomorrow at Kalamazoo.
