EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's cross country team finished 18th at the MSU - Auto Owners Spartan Invitational Friday morning.
The meet consisted of 23 teams ranging from NCAA Division I to junior colleges, including five MIAA teams. Michigan State won the 8K men's event with each of the top five finishers.
Nolan Park finished at 27:23.2 to lead the Hornets and place 140th overall.
Drew Abbott was hot on his heels at 27:26.5 for 142nd, while Henry Cox (27:48.4), Riley Shults (27:52.1) and John Lonsway (27:56.8) all finished under 28 minutes for Kalamazoo.
"We ran strong on both the men's and women's sides today," head coach Kyle Morrison said. "We were dealing with a little fatigue from training camp and the start of the school year, but should be right on schedule for great performances in October and November."
The Hornets return to competition at the Knight Invite hosted by Calvin University on Saturday, Sept. 19 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
