St. Louis, Mo. – The Kalamazoo College women's outdoor track and field team competed at both the WashU Distance Carnival and SLU Speed/Power Festival on Friday to wrap up the program's spring break competition.
Zenaida Sackett ran a personal-best 2:27.37 in the 800m to earn a ninth-place finish. Ava Bechler added another PR for the Hornets in the long jump at 4.77m.
Gwyneth Dunaway ran the 400m in a season-best 1:01.00. Cate Cotter was the fastest of four Kalamazoo runners in the 1500m at 5:26.62.
In the 5,000m at WashU, Maya Alkema led the Hornets at 18:58.87. Kalamazoo's 4x400m relay team of Sackett, Maddie Hanulcik, Madie Miller and Dunaway finished at 4:25.78.
Kalamazoo women's track and field will head to Allendale, Mich. for the GVSU Early Meet Friday-Saturday April 3-4, with events starting at noon on Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
