ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's indoor track and field team competed in the GVSU Mike Lints Alumni Meet Saturday, with several athletes setting personal records.
Nora O'Leary set a new personal best in the mile run at 5:11.87, which earned her a fifth place finish out of 38 runners in the open category, as the top NCAA DIII finisher and ahead of several NCAA DII and NAIA athletes. Gwyneth Dunaway had season-bests in the 400m, at 1:01.05, and the 200m at 26.86, placing third in the open category.
Zara Strauss also set personal-bests in both the shot put (9.88m) and the weight throw (8.99m). Rachel Meston led the Hornets in the 60m with a personal-best 8.67, and competed in shot put for the first time, throwing 8.09m.
Kalamazoo women's indoor track and field returns to Grand Valley State for its annual Big Meet next weekend on Friday starting at 2 p.m. and Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
