GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's indoor track and field team had several strong performances at the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Aquinas College on Friday.
Mason Jett won the 800m run at 1:58.83 in his first collegiate 800m in competition. Jack Schneider also earned a podium finish, coming in third in the 1-mile run at a personal-best 4:30.24.
Henry Cox was runner-up in the 300m at 8:57.00, while Jeremy Salomon finished fourth in the 200m at 23.68, a new personal best. The 4x400m relay team of Salomon, Aidan Paquin, Jett and Elliott Anderson finished second at 3:38.06. Paquin also finished fourth in the long jump at 6.31m and set a new personal best in the 60m dash at 7.29.
Ethan Romey led the Hornets in both shot put, finishing sixth at 12.75m, and weight throw at 9.59m in the team's first competition at weight throw this season.
Kalamazoo men's indoor track and field is back in action next weekend at the GVSU Mike Lints Alumni Meet on Saturday, Feb. 7 starting at 1 p.m.
