ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's indoor track and field team competed at the Bill Clinger Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State, Friday.
Several Hornets set new best marks for the season. Rachel Meston earned personal bests in the 60m run (8.83) and the long jump (3.68m). Maya Alkema set a new personal best in the 3000m at 10:39.11 to win her heat and finish 27th overall.
Gwyneth Dunaway was the second-best NCAA DIII finisher in the 400m and 34th overall at 1:02.13, along with setting a new personal best in the 200m at 27.41. Grace Murphy earned Kalamazoo's best time in both the 800m (2:35.67) and mile run (5:40.32).
Kalamazoo women's indoor track and field will compete in two meets next weekend, traveling to Aquinas for the GR Sports Hall of Fame Classic on Friday (Jan. 30) at 5 p.m. and to Notre Dame for the Meyo Invite on Saturday (Jan. 31) at 10 a.m.
