Two members of the Kalamazoo College women's tennis team,
Eleni Bougioukou and
Rebecca Elias, were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday, May 13.
To earn this honor, the student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and have played at least 90% or start in 66% of their team's competitions, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
The women's tennis team concluded the 2025 season with a 13-7 overall record and a 7-1 performance in conference play, finishing second in both the MIAA regular season standings and the MIAA Tournament.
Bougioukou, a junior from Agios Stefanos, Greece, primarily competed at three singles and two and three doubles for the Hornets. She finished the season with a 10-13 overall singles record (5-3 in MIAA) and a 14-8 mark in doubles (7-1 in MIAA).
Over her career, Bougioukou holds a 28-33 singles record and a 21-18 record in doubles.
This marks her second selection to the CSC Academic All-District team.
Elias, a senior from West Bloomfield, Mich. (Walled Lake Central), also earned her second CSC Academic All-District honor.
Competing primarily at five and six singles and three doubles for Kalamazoo, Elias posted a 12-9 singles record (9-2 in MIAA) and a 7-3 doubles mark (3-0 in MIAA) during the season.
She concludes her career with a 16-12 singles record and a 16-10 doubles record.
