ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team defeated Albion College 122-102 in the season opener Saturday afternoon.
 
Top Finishers:
 
200 medley relay: Team consisting of Zachary Heikka, Erik Danielson, Alden Ehrhardt, Daniel Koselka won the event with a time of 1:47.07.
 
50 free: Daniel Koselka finished first for the Hornets with a time of 22.56.
 
200 IM: Reed Dixon finished second with a time of 2:10.90.
 
1M Diving: Zander Ligman earned a national cut and a score of 285.22
 
3M Diving: Ligman scored a 229.87 for a first-place finish.
 
100 backstroke: Zach Heikka finished first with a time of 55.90 and Fuzail Ahmed followed with a second place finish and a time of 1:00.19.
 
100 breaststroke: Erik Danielson swam to a 1:03.31 first place finish and Reed Dixon finished with a second place finish and a time of 1:06.79.
 
Second-place finishers for Kalamazoo included: Zach Butters (1000 and 500 Freestyle), Avery Jones (200 Freestyle), Reed Dixon (200 IM), Alden Ehrhardt (100 Butterfly), Daniel Koselka (100 Freestyle), Butters, Jones, Heikka, and Dixon (200 Freestyle Relay).
 
Kalamazoo is scheduled to compete next at the MIAA Relays hosted by Calvin on Oct. 18 at 5 p.m.
