Men's Tennis Defeats Hope

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Hope 8-1 at Stowe Stadium on Friday. The win puts the Hornets in sole possession of first place in the MIAA with a 5-0 record while the Flying Dutchmen fall to 5-1 in conference play.

Kalamazoo won all three doubles matches before winning five of the six singles matches.

Daniel Henry/Ian Yi (1), Tytus Metzler/Peter Fitzgerald (2), and Jai Banerji/Dylan Drier (3) won in doubles. Metzler/Fitgerald lost just one game at No. 2.

Casey Johnson won 6-3, 6-2 at four singles before Banerji won 6-1, 6-3 at two to clinch the match for the Hornets.

Henry (2), Metzler (3), and Gabe Vidinas (6) also won in straight sets. 

Kalamazoo is scheduled to host Olivet next on Sunday, April 25 at 1 p.m.
