Men's Tennis drops 5-4 decision at No. 35 Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost 5-4 at No. 35 Denison University on Saturday.

In addition to being nationally ranked the host Big Red are ranked ninth in the region while Kalamazoo is ranked tenth.

Kalamazoo led 2-1 after doubles, but Denison responded with four wins in singles to win the match. The Big Red won both singles matches that went to three sets, including the clincher at six.

Robert Hudson and Eric De Witt won 8-4 at two doubles while Allen Vinson and Ricardo DelOlmo-Parrado won by the same score at three.

Elan Dantus (6-1, 6-3) and Branden Metzler (6-4, 6-1) won quickly at three and one singles, respectively, but Denison won the final four matches for the win.

Kalamazoo is off until March 19 when the Hornets travel to Georgia for a pair of matches at Rhodes.
