The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Elmhurst College 9-0 in a regional matchup inside the Markin Center on Saturday.
Kalamazoo was ranked No. 9 in the Central Region while Elmhurst entered at No. 15.
The Hornets swept the three doubles points, including a 9-8(5) win by Alan Faber and David DeSimone at No. 2 doubles. Kalamazoo then swept all six singles matches, including a three-set win by DeSimone at No. 3 singles.
Peter Rothstein won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Rothstein and Stephen Hanselman won 9-7 at No. 1 doubles.
The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost its second match of the day, 7-2, to Case Western Reserve University.
Case (11-0) is ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 3 in the Central Region. The visiting Spartans swept the three doubles points before winning four of the six singles matches.
Peter Rothstein won 7-5, 2-6, 10-6 at No. 1 singles while David DeSimone won 6-2, 7-6(6) at No. 4 singles.
Kalamazoo returns to action Sunday morning when the Hornets host Luther College at 10 a.m.
