The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost its season opener 7-2 to Coe College inside the Markin Center on Saturday.
Coe (5-0) was ranked No. 11 in the region while the Hornets were ranked No. 9 regionally.
Coe swept the three doubles points, 8-4, 8-3, and 8-4.
Steve Hanselman won 7-5, 7-5 at No. 2 singles to earn Kalamazoo's first point. Robert Hudson picked up the other point with a 1-6, 7-5, 10-7 win at No. 5 singles.
The Hornets return to action at Chicago on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m.
