Box Score The Kalamazoo College football team won 31-24 at Lakeland (Wis.) College on Saturday.
Lakeland took the early lead with a touchdown on its opening possession.
Kalamazoo made it 7-2 with a safety before taking a 9-7 lead on a Dimeko Price touchdown run early in the second quarter.
Lakeland pulled ahead 14-9 with a touchdown on its next drive, but the Hornets responded with a 64-yard touchdown run by Aaron McGuire on the next possession to take a 17-14 lead into halftime.
Kalamazoo went up 31-14 with 4:01 left in the third quarter after a pair of Dimeko Price touchdown runs.
Lakeland made it 31-21 with a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The Muskies kicked a field goal to make it 31-24 with 5:21 remaining, but the Kalamazoo defense was able to hold on for the 31-24 win.
Quarterback Aaron McGuire led Kalamazoo with 115 rushing yards including the 64-yard touchdown run. He was 13-of-28 passing for 172 yards with three interceptions.
Dimeko Price had 82 yards on 28 carries with three touchdowns. Price also had four catches for 55 yards.
Dan Grost had one catch for 42 yards. Jimmy Frye, Alex Dietrich, and Josh Wise each had two receptions.
Alan Mencer led the Hornet defense with seven total tackles, including two quarterback sacks. Connor Rzeznik had six tackles, including three and a half for loss, and one interception.
Jake Gallimore also had an interception and Ian Good was in on a sack.
Kalamazoo (3-0) travels to Centre College (Ky.) next Saturday, Sept. 22.
