Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Tops Beloit Thursday

BELOIT, Wis. – The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won, 4-1, at Beloit College Thursday for the Hornets' first win of the season.

Beloit scored first in the ninth minute, but Kalamazoo took control from there.

Ruby Hogan scored off of a corner kick from Maeve Nolan in the 22nd minute to tie the game 1-1, which held until halftime.

In the 47th minute, Anna Courtney struck for the Hornets off of a pass from Lexi Gross to take the lead. Shortly after, Kalamazoo capitalized on another corner kick as Madie Miller scored with an assist from Savannah Norman.

Finally, Hogan scored on a penalty kick in the 74th minute to bring the lead to three goals. The Hornets outshot the Buccaneers, 25-7, with a 13-2 advantage in shots on goal and 17-2 margin on corner kicks.

Jess Forbis made one save in holding Beloit to one goal in the match for the win.

Kalamazoo (1-1) returns home to MacKenzie Field for the first time this season on Saturday, hosting Illinois Wesleyan University (0-0-1) at noon.
